Silvertown Update: New material available on Commonplace

Thank you to everyone who came along to our exhibition at the beginning of September where we presented the detailed proposals for Phase 1 of Silvertown following six months of consultation.

Phase 1 information

If you weren't able to make it on the day and want to see how the detailed proposals for Phase 1 have progressed, the information is now available on the Commonplace website in three sections:

  • Silvertown Phase 1: Information on the Phase 1 area, masterplan and landscaping information.
  • Mills Quarter: Information on the renovation of Millennium Mills, new brand buildings, residential buildings and a new public square.
  • Silo D Quarter: Information on the new residential buildings around the existing Silo-D building and a new community green space.
  • The exhibition material can be viewed here: https://silvertown.commonplace.is/overview

    Consultation Feedback

We have been consulting on the proposals for Phase 1 since April 2019 and have gathered feedback from the community which has been incorporated into our proposals for Phase 1. Over 500 people have taken part in the consultation process and we have received over 400 individual pieces of feedback through the consultation events and online. Below is a summary of how we have responded to some of the comments raised.

    Planning Submission and Future Engagement

We are now working towards making a Reserved Matters Application for Phase 1 to Newham Council which will be submitted in the coming weeks. While the consultation process for Phase 1 has now concluded, we will continue to engage and work with the community prior to any construction work on site and as we start to work on proposals for later phases of Silvertown, including plans for the new bridge across Royal Victoria Dock. In the near future we will consult with the community again on the potential meanwhile use plans on the site.
